Gas Hot Water Systems

Home » Gas Hot Water Systems

If you are installing a new hot water system it’s important to understand the different options, in order to make the right decision. There are four different power sources for hot water systems:

electric, solar, heat pump, or gas. See below pages for more details:

Gas hot water systems use a gas burner to heat up water to the required temperature. There are two types of gas hot water systems: storage tank and continuous flow. Storage tank systems consist of a steel cylinder with a gas burner at the bottom. They heat up the water in advance so that you have a certain amount of hot water ready to use.

Continuous flow systems are tankless, and they heat the water as it flows through a heat exchanger, providing a continuous supply of hot water.

Gas hot water systems can run off either the gas mains or an LPG gas tank. There are several advantages to choosing gas hot water systems. They are more cost-effective than other options, and more energy-efficient than electricity. They are also more energy-efficient than a solar heating system that is boosted by electricity. In addition, greenhouse gas emissions are lower. Whilst they are usually more expensive to purchase and install than electric systems, the running costs are generally lower.

Storage tank systems are made up of a steel tank with a gas burner at the bottom, and they heat the water in advance. There are advantages and disadvantages to each type, so the right one for you will depend on your circumstances.

If you have decided to install a gas hot water system, it is always best to hire a plumber to carry out the work. Attempting to install it yourself could lead to causing irreparable damage, as well as voiding your warranty.

Should you experience any issues with your gas hot water system, such as the system itself leaking, low hot water pressure, or no hot water, you should call a plumber to take a look at it.
