Clearing Stubborn Blockages the Right Way
Not every blocked drain responds to a plunger or a bottle of drain cleaner from the supermarket. When tree roots, years of grease buildup, or a genuinely stubborn blockage are involved, hydro jet drain cleaning is usually the more effective option, and often the longer lasting one too.
Hydro jetting uses a high pressure stream of water to clear the inside of a pipe completely, rather than just pushing a blockage further down the line the way a standard drain snake sometimes does. It is particularly useful for main sewer lines, kitchen drains dealing with grease, and older pipes that have built up debris over many years.
When a Hydro Jet Drain Cleaner Makes Sense
- Recurring blockages that keep coming back after a basic clear
- Slow draining sinks, showers or toilets across multiple fixtures
- Tree root intrusion in outdoor or underground pipework
- Grease and fat buildup in kitchen or restaurant drainage
- Bad odours coming from drains that will not go away
One thing worth knowing is that not every blocked drain needs the hydro jet treatment. In many cases a simpler clear is enough, and part of our job is working out which approach actually suits the blockage rather than reaching for the biggest tool every time.
What to Expect from Our Hydro Jetting Service
We will usually run a camera inspection first where needed, so we can see what is actually happening inside the pipe before deciding on hydro jet drain cleaning. This avoids unnecessary work and helps us flag any pipe damage that jetting alone will not fix, such as cracked or collapsed sections.
Watermark Plumbing has serviced homes, apartment complexes and commercial properties across greater Brisbane for over 40 years, and blocked drains are one of the most common calls we get. If your drains are giving you ongoing grief, call us on 0417 620 502 and we can talk through whether hydro jetting is the right fix for your situation.
